Goodbye Blogger! Im sad to say I'm leaving, BUT don't fret! I will be using Wordpress to do my blogging. So good news is that you should see WAY more updates. Bad news, I wont be using blogger. Blogger was not working for me because my life is so fast paced and it did not work well with my lifestyle. I finally got tired of not being to update you all with all the photos and info I would want to, so I decided to take the plunge and switch blog sites. I did these on my main squeeze, and nail addict Jackie. I seen the arrowed tips in a nail magazine that was flicked from a fashion show (I do not remember the designer), flicked the pic on my phone, and decided to replicate it with my own spin on it. My girl decided on adding the black rhinestones, which I was a bit reluctant to do at first because I loved the simple design so much, but I actually really liked how they came out! More and more people have been requesting the pointed talon look, which i LOVE. I added some swarvoski crystals, pearls, and black diamonds to the index.
The below pics are ones I did on myself, this is pretty much exactly how the models had it in the picture, but I was inspired by Christian Louboutin shoes, and added the red on the underside of the nail. I've seen the red on the underside of the nail done before, so I do not claim credit for that idea, but I love it!

To all the the ladies out there, I have been getting many emails regarding my nail art, and wish I could travel and do each and every one of your nails. Unfortunately, I am only one person, and cant get to everyone. I'm working on creating sets of "temporary nails" which are like "press-on's" that will be for sale in my etsy shop. The quality of the nails are really good, and have actually been featured in a lot of my photos. Dope thing about them is, if you work a corporate job like I do, by the time the weekend is through you can take them off carefully and keep them so you want to rock them again next week. Be on the look out for that, and many other project. T-shirts? Stickers? Mobile Nail Shop? Many ideas are brewing in my head, and you never know what might pop up soon!

Just heard news that Guru from Gangstarr passed away yesterday due to Cancer at the young age of 43. He will always be remembered as a musical pioneer, and I know people that cared for him will live out his legacy. Donate in his memory to his foundation, Each One Counts, which helps unprivledged children, and helps research against Cancer. He left a letter behind for friends, fans, and family. He made it very clear in the letter that he did not want his former music partner, DJ Premier, to participate in any tributes or events following his death.

"I do not wish my ex-DJ to have anything to do with my name likeness, events, tributes etc. connected in anyway to my situation including any use of my name or circumstance for any reason and I have instructed my lawyers to enforce this," wrote Guru. "I had nothing to do with him in life for over 7 years and want nothing to do with him in death. Solar has my life story and is well informed on my family situation, as well as the real reason for separating from my ex-DJ.

The letter can be read in its entirety here, or you can read just a brief insert below:

"I, Guru, am writing this letter to my fans, friends and loved ones around the world. I have had a long battle with cancer and have succumbed to the disease," the letter read. "I have suffered with this illness for over a year. I have exhausted all medical options. I have a non-profit organization called Each One Counts dedicated to carrying on my charitable work on behalf of abused and disadvantaged children from around the world and also to educate and research a cure for this terrible disease that took my life. I write this with tears in my eyes, not of sorrow but of joy for what a wonderful life I have enjoyed and how many great people I have had the pleasure of meeting."

Guru, you will truely be missed.

Its just been confirmed today that Hip-Hop producer and DJ, Nujabes, died in Japan on February 26th, after a car accident. I was just listening to "Feather" which features Cise Starr from Cyne, on the train today to work. His beats are so beautiful, they make you feel. When I listen to his work I feel like I appreciate things more, and see things more on the brighter side. If you haven't heard his music I highly suggest downloading Feather, Bracelet, Mystline, Just Forget, Lady Brown, Counting Stars, Still Talking To You, Reflection Eternal, How You Feel, Think Different, and Latitude. Shoot, just download it all. Trust. You wont be disappointed.

I was browsing some blogs and I started to feel very nostalgic. Seems like a theme of blogs showing their child hood days love, which is making me reminisce.

Got this collage from DutchessMag. Makes me feel very Klarrisa Explains It All and Moesha. That Chanel bag is sick, and I love the grey suede Docs. Okay, okay. I can't leave out the Jeremy Scott "Floral Flight" leggings.

I can't remember where I found this one of Hey Arnold! If you happen to know where this may be from, please send me the link so that I can give credit where credit is due! I always thought he was wearing a kilt or skirt, but come to find out its a long flannel under a cardigan. Didnt he have the craziest room?! The whole ceiling is a giant sky light, acess to the roof, a couch that comes out the wall, a remote that controls everything. He had it made.

(This is how I'm feeling right now, like the post man Harvey hating the snow. Chicago got a few more inches of snow last night, but today was pretty sunny, and all the snow melted. Success!)

If you remember those shows, you gotta remember Ahh Real Monsters, Angry Beavers, KaBlam, Rocko's Modern Life, Wild and Crazy Kids, and Pete and Pete. I wish I had them all on DVD to go back to the good days when Hariet the Spy was always in the VHS player, the Nickelodeon VHS tapes were orange, slime was cool, glittery butterfly clips and jelly shoes were in the closet, and Lisa Frank was the stationary used to write your best friends notes about boys.

Thanks to my girl at MakeUpByGucci who let me know that the ladies at 2BitchesDeep did a feature of me on their blog! I love these ladies! I recently blogged about them a week ago, and since then Rihanna has been seen in her new video Rude Boy rocking their Mini Bow Gloves.

I forgot to tell you guys that Wah Nails gave me a shout out on their blog. I am truly honored, because I look up to what these ladies are doing, and find lots of inspiration from them. I received an email from Dont Trip Yet asking me for my contact info, because the ladies at Wah Nails seen my nail art posted on DTY's blog, and wanted to see some other work of mine. What?! Exciting, I know.

So on the blog, they said:

The magazine features many woman trailblazers who are making it well know that woman are just as powerful as men in this world. Interviews from artist NASH, tatoo artist Laura Santana, founder of dance company Decadencetheatre, and many more will be featured. Heres what Elles has to say about their 25th issue:

The inspiration for one of the nails in my recent nail design was inspired by M.I.A's editorial in Vogue. She was rockin Minx in the
"Black and White Weave"overlay in the shoot, and during a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event. I'm pretty happy with how the design came out, and I'm thinking about doing a full set of the design.

I really hate taking pictures of nails I've done because every little imperfection that you don't know in person shows up. Ugh! You can't see in the picture, but the black nail is matte, and has glossy cheetah print design on them. I love how the fruits came out and the thatches pinky design. The sequin are so cute in person, but look kind of odd in the picture.

My girl Make Up Babble from Canada sent me these nail canes in the mail that I have been looking for forever! Talk about making my day! As soon as I got the package, I HAD to slice them up and use them. My girl jackie wanted to throw some of the Chanel and Hello Kitty on one of her nails, so we did just that (pictures are coming soon). Check out Make Up Babbles nail blog as well. She has some great talent!

You can use the slices on the nail as 3D art, or embed them under the nail (as in the pictures above). These pictures are from Wah Nails. You should check them out, they have some insane designs! I visit their blog often for inspiration.

Okay, okay! I know I have been blogging a lot about my nail designs, and I don't want to bore you guys, but I've been really excited because many of my supplies have came in the mail! I did my girl Jackie's nails yesterday, and let me just tell you, they came out really crazy! One of my favorites yet! I don't have pictures yet, but trust me, they will be coming soon.

My fruit deco items came in the mail, and they are so adorable in person. They actually look realist. I did just a simple design on my nails, nothing special. Every time I look at them my fingers just automatically go in my mouth. They are making me wish for summer!

Damn, It feels good to be a gangsta. Kinda how Im feeling right now. Just kidding! I'm just all giddy inside.

The guys at St. Alfred's posted my nails up on their blog! If you haven't heard of St. Alfred's, they are a dope sneaker shop in Chicago. They also have their own clothing line, and do lots of callabos with great companies like Nike and Gatorade. Check out their blog here!
